Ka-Bar USA was originally founded in 1898 in Tidioute, Pennsylvania, as the Tidioute Cutlery Company. It later became Union Cutlery and relocated to Olean, New York. The Ka-Bar name became iconic during World War II with the release of the USMC Fighting/Utility Knife.
