Warranty & Product Claims
At Aussie Outback Supplies, we stand behind the products we manufacture, import, distribute and sell.
As we stock a large range of brands and products, warranty periods and warranty conditions vary depending on the product and manufacturer.
Some products are manufactured or owned by Aussie Outback Supplies, while others are products we import, distribute or resell on behalf of third-party manufacturers.
If you experience an issue with a product purchased through Aussie Outback Supplies or one of our dealers, please contact us and we will help determine the appropriate next steps.
Proof of Purchase
Reasonable proof of purchase is required when making a warranty claim.
Proof of purchase may include an invoice, receipt, online order confirmation, order number, card or bank statement showing the transaction, or other reasonable evidence showing where and when the product was purchased.
If the product was received as a gift, we may ask you to obtain proof of purchase or purchase details from the original purchaser.
AOS Swags & Bags, EZE-Sharp and SICUT products
For brands owned or manufactured by Aussie Outback Supplies, including AOS Swags & Bags, EZE-Sharp and SICUT, please contact us even if you no longer have the original proof of purchase.
Because these are our own brands, in some circumstances we may be able to identify the product and assist with an assessment on a case-by-case basis.
Being able to identify the product does not automatically mean a warranty claim will be approved, and we may still request information regarding the approximate purchase date, place of purchase and product history.
Other brands
For third-party brands that Aussie Outback Supplies imports, distributes or resells, reasonable proof of purchase is required before we can process a warranty claim.
This allows us to establish the purchase date and confirm that the product was supplied by Aussie Outback Supplies or through a retailer supplied by us.
We cannot verify the origin, purchase date or Australian distribution history of a third-party product based on the product alone.
AOS Swags & Bags Warranty
Our Australian-made AOS Swags & Bags products are backed by our manufacturer’s warranty against defects in workmanship and manufacture.
Australian Made AOS Swags — 10 Year Warranty
Other Australian Made AOS Products — 5 Year Warranty
Imported AOS Products — 12 Month Warranty
The applicable manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in workmanship and manufacture during the relevant warranty period.
Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, negligence, excessive force, inappropriate storage or maintenance, modifications, alterations, or use for a purpose other than that for which the product was designed are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Other Brands
Warranty periods and warranty conditions for other brands sold by Aussie Outback Supplies vary depending on the product and manufacturer.
Where a manufacturer provides a warranty, the applicable manufacturer’s warranty period and conditions will apply.
Aussie Outback Supplies may need to liaise with the relevant manufacturer, Australian supplier or brand owner as part of the assessment process.
How We Assess a Warranty Claim
Depending on the product and nature of the issue, we may ask you to provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Photographs or videos showing the issue
- Information regarding how the product has been used
- Information regarding storage, maintenance or care
- Details of when and how the issue occurred
- The product itself for physical inspection
For some products, we may also need to obtain technical advice or an assessment from the manufacturer or supplier.
Returning a product for assessment does not automatically mean that a warranty claim has been approved.
Once the assessment has been completed, we will advise you of the outcome and the appropriate next steps.
What Isn’t Normally Covered by a Manufacturer’s Warranty?
Manufacturer warranties generally do not cover damage or deterioration resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, excessive force or impact, abrasion through use, incorrect maintenance or storage, unauthorised modifications or alterations, overloading, failure to follow product instructions, or use outside the product’s intended purpose.
Each claim is assessed individually based on the product, its condition and the circumstances of the claim.
Returning a Product for Assessment
Please contact Aussie Outback Supplies before returning a product.
This allows our team to obtain the required information, provide return instructions and ensure the product can be correctly identified when it arrives.
Where possible, products should be returned reasonably clean and safe to handle.
Do not undertake unauthorised repairs or modifications before assessment, as this may make it more difficult to determine the cause of the problem or void your warranty.
Depending on the circumstances, the customer may initially be responsible for returning a product for assessment. Pending outcome reasonable return costs will be handled or reimbursed where required.
For products found not to have a warrantable fault, any return freight or non-warranty repair costs will be discussed with you before work is undertaken.
